Educating the world is an integral part of proclaiming the good news to “the end of the earth”(Acts 13:47): The good news of dignity of life, the adventure that living ought to be for every human being. We are in the mission of educating the world because with Jesus we believe in the sanctity and dignity of every human being irrespective of cast, creed and color.

As Dominicans our charism of preaching required us to bring light and truth into the heart of the young through education. St. Dominic said: “read the book which you have always before the eyes of your soul, that book of life, the book of immaculate law because it removes stains”.

St. Dominic’s school at Palluruthy, Kochi, was established in 1978. The institution was recognized by the State Board of Education on 2003 Match in its Silver Jubilee.

The present  strength of  students L K G to STD X ,1800 Students. This institution is like a great loving family where the children find a sense of belonging. Here students are considered as unique individuals as well as an indispensable link in the social chain. The great success of the institution lies in its wonderful balance between the curricular and co-curricular activities. To as great extend it helps each child to achieve a well balanced mental, physical and emotional development.

The achievement of the school in arts, sports, science, mathematics, exhibitions etc are praiseworthy. In the sub-district level competitions there are the overall champions. In the district and state level also they have come out in flying colors. The school conducts a variety of literary and cultural activities. Care is taken to give ample opportunity to each student to attain his/her overall development. Students are encouraged to take part in various activities according to their talents and taste. The school also provides ample facilities to shape one’s skill in arts, crafts, work experience, music, dance, band and in fire arts. There are special teachers to train them in these areas.

The school has earned the reputation of being one of the best schools in terms of education, discipline and writing book reviews. It is also equipped with a very good library. We also have a variety of clubs functioning in our school. The students are also given computer education as part of their syllabus and have a well-furnished computer lab for the proper study of our pupils. The school P.T.A is an active organization, which is whole heartedly supported by the parents, is a great asset for the smooth running of the institution and above all it is the devotion and sincerity of the staff which makes the institution stand apart.

Besides the educational activity, the community at Palluruthy is also involved in taking care of the sick, family visits, parish apostolate and distant adoptions.
